The Herren 2 “Wild Bees” closed out their 2016 season with a 58-52 home victory over Tauberbishofsheim. This win should leave the “Wild Bees” in 6th place standing in the league. As always the “Wild Bees” took their time to figure out the other team’s weakness and produced a 33-27 halftime lead. Both teams gave a good performance of team work on offense and defense, but the “Wild Bees” held strong and walked away with the win. “The team worked together during the whole game and each player responded when they were on the court.” Stated Coach Wicks.
The Herren 2 “Wild Bees” scored another road win at USC Heidelberg last weekend with a 54-43 victory. After a low output of 10 point for the 1st and 2nd quarters, the “Wild Bees” came out with a strong point production of 20 points while holding Heidelberg to 11. “We started moving the ball in our set offense to find the open shooter outside and was able to find our low post to do damage to their defense” stated Coach Wicks.
The Herren2 “Wild Bees” got a home victory 68:64 against TSV Wieblingen on Saturday February 20, winning going down the stretch. The “Wild Bees” started slow with a low 1st quarter output advantage of 11-8, but turned on the flow with a 23 point 2nd quarter to lead at halftime 34-28. But as basketball goes, there are more than the players on the court. “I have always told the players, you play against 7 people on the court, the other team and the 2 Schiedsrichters” stated Coach Wicks. “The Schiedsrichters are as much of the game as the other team and can affect the outcome.
