The Herren 2 “Wild Bees” continued their road wins with a 71:60 win over TV Wieblingen 2 this weekend. The “Wild Bees” again set the tone of the game by coming out and controlling the tempo and control of the game from the beginning. With a halftime score of 32:29, the “Wild Bees” came out in the third quarter and took a commanding lead of 53:43 to head into the final quarter. This is when the backcourt duo of Thomas Weidlich and “Iceman” Nils Uhrig took control of the game. Using ball control and time management, the duo held Wieblingen at bay and forced the home team into fouling and sending the “Wild Bees” to the foul line on numerous occasions to secure the final win at 71:60.
“The team has learned to follow the leadership of our experienced players to carry us to victories on the road”, stated Coach Wicks. “We are growing as a team by playing on the road, and to be able to walk away with road wins, helps mature a team quickly. We still have growing to do and have yet had a home victory. The team is looking forward to showing the home fans exactly what the Herren 2 “Wild Bees” have to offer, but we still are on the road for our next game”. As a team, every player did their part whether on offense or defense and that’s what it takes to get wins on the road.
